Mood Swing

$1,123.20
sold out

Artist: Amira Yamaguchi (amirakioshi ART)

24×36×2in

Acrylic paint on canvas

Created on the day of my bipolar disorder diagnosis, Mood Swings is both a release and a reckoning. This piece embodies the raw, unfiltered turbulence I felt as I began to confront my mental health with new clarity. The chaotic layers of color, movement, and texture reflect the emotional storms that have long lived inside me bursts of mania, depths of depression, and everything in between.

Yet, at the heart of this complexity sits a bold, solid yellow form-deliberate, grounded, and unyielding. This shape represents the beginning of control, a container for the chaos, and a shield of awareness. It is not about erasing the disorder, but about finding protection within it, giving structure to what once felt uncontainable.

In this painting, I began the lifelong process of healing not by hiding the darkness, but by giving it form and allowing it to be seen, safely, within boundaries I choose.
